2.2 Sources of International Law
According to the evidence before the Tribunal, several sources of
international law were identified by various witnesses and deponents,
to include (this is not intended as an exhaustive list):
- the United Nations Charter (to which all nuclear weapons states are
a party
- other treaties and similar written documents
- customary international law
- highly qualified publicists of international law
- general principles of law recognized by civilized nations
- public conscience
- laws of humanity.
